Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

The first step is scheduling a free consultation through my website. During this brief call we can talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and see if working together feels like a good fit. If it feels like the right next step, I’ll guide you through scheduling an intake session through Deep River Counseling, where I provide therapy services.

Do you take insurance?

I provide therapy through Deep River Counseling and am in network with several insurance providers, including:

  • Aetna
  • Anthem
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna / Evernorth
  • HealthPartners (MN & WI)
  • Medica
  • Medicaid
  • Optum
  • UCare
  • UnitedHealthcare / UMR / UBH

Private pay is also available. Because coverage varies by plan, I recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your specific benefits. If you have questions about insurance or the process, I’m happy to help you navigate it.

What are your rates?
  • Diagnostic Assessment / Intake Session: $200 (53 minutes)
  • Individual Therapy Session: $150 (53 minutes)
  • Sliding scale payment options are available upon request.

If you plan to use insurance, your out-of-pocket cost will depend on your individual plan and benefits. I recommend checking with your insurance provider to understand your coverage. If you have questions about fees or insurance, I’m happy to help you navigate it.

How often will we meet?

Most therapy sessions are 53 minutes. Many clients begin meeting weekly so we can build momentum and develop a strong foundation for the work. As progress is made, sessions may shift to every other week or monthly depending on your needs, goals, and schedule. The pace of therapy is something we will regularly check in about together.

I offer in-person sessions at Deep River Counseling LLC in Roseville, Minnesota, and also provide telehealth sessions for clients who prefer the convenience of meeting virtually.

What age groups do you work with?

I work with children ages 10 and up, teens, adults, and families. My background as a school counselor allows me to support young people navigating school, friendships, family dynamics, and emotional challenges, while also working with adults who are looking to better understand themselves and create meaningful change in their lives.

Do you offer presentations or workshops?

Yes. I provide presentations and workshops for parents, educators, and community groups on topics related to children’s mental health, emotional regulation, anxiety, and supporting families. Presentation topics and rates vary depending on the event. Please reach out through the contact form or email me for more details.
