I don\u2019t know. And I\u2019m not saying that in a cutesy way. I genuinely don\u2019t know if writing a blog in 2026 makes sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And I\u2019m not totally sure why, but it feels important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I built this website, I realized something. A website can be clean and professional and still feel kind of empty. Like it tells you what I do, but not who I am. And I\u2019m not interested in hiding behind a \u201ctherapist voice\u201d that sounds perfect, polished, and emotionally neutral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m a therapist, yes. I\u2019m also a mom first. And being a mom has made me more human, not less. It\u2019s made me more aware of how much we all carry around quietly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The mental load.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The anxiety that sits in your body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ways you can love your kids more than anything and still feel overstimulated, reactive, unsure, or exhausted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The way you can be doing \u201cfine\u201d on paper and still feel like you\u2019re barely holding it together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And honestly, I think a lot of people feel like that. Not in a dramatic way. In the everyday way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I want this blog to be a space where professional Rachael can be personal. Not in a boundary-less way. Not in an oversharing way. Just in a real way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Because therapists are humans too. We don\u2019t float above the things we help people with. We live inside them. We learn, we adjust, we have our own patterns, we get triggered, we repair, we try again. That\u2019s part of what makes this work feel meaningful to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I don\u2019t want therapy to feel like this mysterious thing you \u201cshould\u201d do when you\u2019ve hit a breaking point. I want it to feel like a place you can go to understand yourself. To make sense of your reactions. To figure out what\u2019s yours, what you inherited, and what you want to do differently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s what Illuminated Roots is about to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So this blog will be a mix of what I\u2019m learning, what I\u2019m noticing, what I keep seeing in the room with clients, and what I\u2019m living in my own life too. Sometimes it will be practical. Sometimes it will be reflective. I\u2019m not going to force it into a perfect formula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you\u2019re reading this, you probably don\u2019t need another \u201c5 tips\u201d post. You probably want something that feels honest and helpful and human.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That\u2019s what I\u2019m trying to create here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And if you\u2019re here at the very beginning, while I\u2019m still figuring it out, I\u2019m really glad you are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
